Let's Use God's VOR Navigational System!

An airplane pilot knows how to get from point A to point B, by using the VHF Omnidirectional Radio Range (VOR) a navigational system invented in the early 1950's.

The pilot sets the course of the aircraft on a VOR dial. If the aircraft drifts from that set course, the instrument shows the pilot that the plane is deviating so he can correct it to align the aircraft to the set course again.

In Isaiah's day, the nation of Israel was in bad need of a reliable VOR system. God wanted to be that system for them. But despite God's warnings, they decided to align themselves with Egypt, which was a big mistake (Isaiah 30:1-2; Isaiah 31:1-3).

However, God graciously promised that one day, He would be their navigator.

He told them through the prophet:
"Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it.' Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left" (Isaiah 30:21).
Today, Christians have an internal navigational system through the Holy Spirit inspired words found in the New Testament (John 16:13; Acts 2:14; Acts 10:44; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

Dear reader, if we ever need direction as to where to set the course of our life, let's not rely on our own way, because it can be faulty (Proverbs 14:12; Proverbs 16:25).

Rather, let's us God's VOR navigational system, for He will always lead us in the right direction! (Psalm 25:8-10; Proverbs 3:5-6).
