"The Only Way To Do Great Work....."

When I think of Steve Jobs, I’m reminded of what Mr. Jobs stated in his commencement address that he delivered to the Stanford University graduating class in June, 2005.

In that address, he told the graduating class:
You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied, is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don’t settle.
Mr. Jobs stated a great truth when he said, “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.

Dear reader, do we truly love doing the Lord’s work with the same passion and zeal as Steve Jobs had for his work in the realm of technology? For the Lord’s work is indeed a “great work" (Exodus 14:31). In fact, it is the greatest work on earth.

Is the Lord's work our “first love,” or have we left that “first love” in search of a worldly kind of love? (Revelation 2:4; cf. 1 John 2:15-16; 2 Timothy 4:10).
