Where Would We Be Without God?

Have we ever thought of where we would be without God? Without God, there would be no purpose for our existence — no mission — no challenge. Without God, there would be no courage — no honor — no destiny. It was said of an atheist who was lying in his coffin with his best clothes, “What a shame — All dressed up and nowhere to go!

But if we have the three Persons of the Godhead, then we have purpose in life (Ecclesiastes 12:13). God has given us talents to use and glorify Him (Matthew 25:14-23; cf. Matthew 5:16-17). With Christ, there is personality and destiny, for Jesus said that where He is, there we may be also (John 14:3).

Dear reader, it is this writer’s prayer that we all fulfill our purpose by discovering how we can best please God and serve others — developing our personalities by submitting our will to God’s will (Matthew 7:21; cf. Luke 22:39-42).

We can then be a blessing and godly influence to others (1 Thessalonians 1), claim our great purpose in life (Isaiah 43:7), and our hope and destiny of being gloriously welcomed by God to the joys and beauties of our heavenly home (Matthew 25:34; cf. 1 Peter 1:3-4; Revelation 21:7).
