"I Will Never Forget Your Precepts"

The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947 has been called the greatest archaeological find of the 20th century. The ancient manuscripts hidden in the caves near Qumran are the oldest known copies of key Old Testament books (see videos here and here).

As followers of Christ we believe that the Bible is the eternal, unchanging Word of God.(1 Peter 1:23; cf. Hebrews 6:13-20), thus we firmly believe the inspired words penned by the Psalmist: “Forever, O Lord, Your Word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness endures to all generations” (Psalm 119:89-90).

Jesus once stated: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” (Matthew 24:35).

Beloved, the Bible is more than just a historical relic. It is the living, powerful Word of God (Hebrews 4:12), in which we encounter the inspired teachings of the Lord and discover how to live for Him and honor Him (2 Timothy 3:16; Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 4:23-32; Philippians 3:7-15).

The Psalmist concluded in Psalm 119:93: “I will never forget Your precepts, for by them You have given me life.

Let us make memorizing key Scriptures one of our goals, so we like the Psalmist, will never forget God’s precepts (Psalm 119:11; Psalm 37:30-31).
