Two of most important decisions that a young person will ever have to make in life are (1) who their friends will be and (2) who they will marry. Many times, “who” a young person’s friends are, will be the determining factor in “who” they will marry.
Regarding the choice of our friends, the apostle Paul once stated:
“Be not deceived: evil companionships corrupt good morals” (1 Corinthians 15:33 ASV).
Again in 2 Corinthians 6:14, the apostle Paul declares:
“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?“
What's the inspired advice for young people? — Use wisdom in choosing your friends (Proverbs 2).
