"Without God, We Are One Nation Gone Under"

While driving to have breakfast this morning with some of the saints, I noticed a church marquee sign which read: "Without God, We Are One Nation Gone Under." These sentiments reminded me of a similar sentiment by Ronald Reagan which states, "If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under" (source).

Both sentiments reflect the idea that without God governing our society, morally and spiritually speaking, our nation is doomed to fail. It will become "a nation gone under." The reason I know this is because "the Bible tells me so." Note the warning given by God in Psalm 9:17: "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." By inspiration, the apostle Paul tells us in Romans 1:28, that because the Gentiles did not like to "retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting."

Dear reader, does not the above quote from the inspired apostle, sound like what our government leaders are presently doing; the goal being to take God out of the very fabric of our society, so its citizens will no longer retain God in their knowledge?

What can be done for our country in order to cease going down this dead-end road? One thing we can do is to call or write our government leaders at the local, county, state and national level, telling them that as voting citizens of this nation, we implore them to return to the Bible, to God, and to moral sanity.

And then when we vote during the upcoming elections, vote for those candidates who uphold godly principles as found and promoted throughout the Bible (Yes, there is a definite connection between religion and morality!).

Let us return to truly being "One Nation Under Godnot "one nation gone under. Our nation needs to "Kiss the Son" (Psalm 2:13 - see article), i.e. "honor the Son" (John 5:23), for God has designated His Son to judge us in that last day (John 12:48; Acts 17:31).
