After reading these two Christian Post articles here and here this morning, the more I am convinced that these are simply more signs of our morally deteriorating society, such as the society described in Romans 1:18-32 NLT.Beloved, when folks "change" God's truth (John 17:17) into a "lie" (Romans 1:25 KJV), any perversion will be accepted in an aberrant society.
The prophet Isaiah lived in a similar society as described above. Through him, God presented the only viable solution to their sins and perversions in Isaiah 1:16-18:
"Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes. Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, Says the Lord, Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land."
The Proverb writer also provides us with some godly wisdom as well, describing the benefit of seeking and obeying God's law (Proverbs 2:1-9).
If the society of Isaiah's day continued to to disobey God's law, God's judgment would ensue (Isaiah 1:20). The same exact thing will happen to our godless society as well.
