"Our Master Is There"

The story is told of a Christian doctor who once made a house call to a man who was very ill and near death. Being afraid to die, the man asked his physician, "Doctor, what happens to a Christian in the hour of death?" His doctor softly answered, "I don't think anyone really knows for sure."

As the doctor walked across the room to leave the man's home, he wished he could have said something more comforting to the man. As he stood holding the doorknob, there came the sound of scratching and whining from the other side of the door. When he opened the door, the doctor's faithful dog sprang into the room to greet him.

Turning to his patient, the doctor said, "Did you notice that dog of mine? He had never been in your house before. He did not know what was inside this room only that his master was here. When the door was opened, he sprang in without fear. As Christians, we know very little of what is on the other side of death, but we do know one thing — our Master is there, and that is enough! When the door opens, we shall pass through with gladness and without fear — for we shall see Him."

Dear reader, if we are "in Christ" (Gal. 3:26-27) when we are faced with our impending death — it is enough to know that we shall see and be at home with Him (2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23).

What a glorious occasion that will be!
"Oh that will be glory for me,Glory for me, glory for me;When by His grace I shall look on His face,That will be glory, be glory for me! —C.H. Gabriel
