In this short study, let us see what the Bible says about proper spiritual dress for the Christian:
- We are to put on the garment of love (Colossians 3:14; cf. 1 Corinthians 13:1-7).
- We are to put on the garment of compassion and kindness (Luke 10:33-35; Genesis 50:15-21).
- We are to put on the garment of forgiveness (Luke 17:1-4; cf. Colossians 3:13).
- We are to put on the garment of humility (Philippians 2:5-8; James 4:10).
- We are to put on the garment of God's word (Ephesians 6:11-17).
- We are to put on the garment of steadfastness (1 Corinthians 15:58).
- We are to put on the garment of purity (Matthew 5:8; 1 Timothy 4:12; 1 Peter 1:22).
- We are to put on the garment of the "new man" (Ephesians 4:24).
- We are to put on the garment of light (Romans 13:12; cf. Ephesians 5:8; Philippians 2:15).
- We are to put on the garment of Christ, i.e., His holy and righteous character (Romans 13:14; cf. Gal. 2:20; 1 Peter 2:21-24; 1 John 2:6).
