Let's Draw A True Picture Of God

The story is told of a kindergarten teacher who once gave her students a piece of paper and told them to draw on it whatever picture they wanted. As she passed around the room, she noticed one child seemed very intent on her picture.

The teacher asked her, "What you drawing?" The little girl answered, "I'm drawing a picture of God." The teacher replied, "But sweetheart, no one know what God looks like." To which the little girl responded, "They will in a minute!"

Dear reader, each day that we live, we are drawing a picture of God for the world to see. Our portrait will either reflect a stern and merciless God, or a merciful and loving God. When people look at our behavior and how we treat others, they form a mental picture of the God we worship and serve.

As we study, meditate upon, and make application of God's word, let us draw the world a true picture of the living God by our manner of life (2 Timothy 3:10), for it's the only picture of God that most folks will ever see (Matthew 5:14-16; 1 Peter 2:11-12). Also note the word "conduct" in Philippians 1:27; 1 Timothy 4:12; James 3:13; 1 Peter 1:15; 1 Peter 3:1-2).
