Nothing Will Be Hidden --- Everything Will Be Made Known

To my late father, there was nothing in this world that he hated more than a liar. He would tell me, "Son, don't tell a lie, because then you have to tell another lie in order to cover up that lie. Pretty soon, you won't be able to tell the difference in what is true and what is false, so just tell the truth to begin with, no matter what the consequences may be."

My father also didn't like surprises, nor did he like secrets nothing hidden. He wanted everything out in the open, so everyone would know what was really going down. He was a very transparent individual, and expected the same transparency from everyone he associated with. He was upright and honest to a fault. My Heavenly Father is like my earthly father, in the sense that He doesn't like liars either (Acts 5:1-11) So much so, that there won't be any liars found in that heavenly city (Revelation 21:27). And their destiny will not be a pleasant one (Revelation 21:8).

We hear in the news about folks who try and deceive people by lying to them, when the truth would be better served. One example I'm thinking of is the present Benghazi Cover-up. What really happened that cost the lives of four people? The Republican-led House recently voted to form a select committee to investigate the deadly Benghazi terror attack. Hopefully, they will uncover the truth of what really happened.

Just think, if we lived in a society who believed in telling the truth, there wouldn't be any need for any select committee, and the wasting of taxpayer's hard-earned money. Everyone would know what really happened. Why the lies and coverup? Some individuals who know what really happened, are desperately trying to protect themselves from being prosecuted in the matter, and thus feel compelled to lie about the situation. God told Israel that if they disobeyed the Lord, "be sure your sin will find you out" (Numbers 32:20-23).

Dear reader, on Judgment Day, nothing will be hidden — everything will be made known (Matthew 10:26; Mark 4:21-22; Luke 8:16-17; Luke 12:1-3; Revelation 20:11-12). Our all-knowing God (Proverbs 15:3) knows the intent of our heart as well as our "secret sins— all are laid bare before Him (Hebrews 4:12-13; Psalm 90:8; Psalm 50:16-21; Romans 2:14-16).

What's the solution to any "secret sin" we may be harboring? Confess it to God, forsake the sin, and He will abundantly pardon and forgive (Psalm 51:1-4; Proverbs 28:13; Isaiah 55:6-7; 1 John 1:8-9). The bottom line is this: Tell the truth all the time, no matter how much it may cost us. God will richly repay us in the world to come for doing so.(Revelation 12:10-11; note "by the word of their testimony"). What kind of testimony? An honest and truthful one.
