- Always pray first, not after all else has failed (1 Thessalonians 5:17; cf. Acts 12:5; Romans 1:9-10).
- How you start your day many times is indicative as to how it will end.
- God is one and our devotion to Him should be singular (John 4:24; cf. Matthew 4:10).
- The closer we get to God, the more we realize just how far away from Him that we really are (Isaiah 6:1-5).
- When the Lord forgives us, we need to forgive ourselves and move on (Philippians 3:13-15).
- Count your blessings; name them one by one, and you will run out of time before the day is done.
- The closer we get to the light, the more conspicuous our sins become (John 3:19-20).
- If you are living life in the fast lane, you are going to have to slow down before you can make an exit (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Gal. 5:19-21).
- "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21). Paul could say "to dies is gain" because for him, "to live" was "Christ" (and it must be in this order for the last to be true).
