Remembering God's Blessings Today

Communications experts tell us that the average person speaks enough to fill 20 single-spaced, typewritten pages every day. This means that our mouths crank out enough words to fill 2 books of 300 pages each month. This amounts to 24 books each year, and 1,200 books in 50 years of speaking.

Thanks to phones, voice mail, and face-to-face conversations, words comprise a large part of our lives, so the kind of words we use are very important.

In Psalm 126, the Psalmist's mouth was filled with praise because the Lord had done great things for him and his people.

Remembering God's blessings, he wrote:
"Our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing" (Psalm 126:2).
What words would we have used in Psalm 126:3, had we been writing this psalm? Can we finish it by saying:
"And I am praising and thanking Him for His goodness and innumerable benefits" (Psalm 31:19; Psalm 68:19).
As we remember the blessings that God has provided for us today, let us express our words of praise to Him.
