The following humorous, but meaningful story comes from the Montana Street bulletin, illustrating our need for effective communication as we interact with others (especially our spouses!):
While attending a marriage seminar dealing with effective communication, Tom and his wife, Grace, attentively listened to their instructor say:
“It is essential that husbands and wives know each other’s likes and dislikes.”
He then addressed the men in attendance:
“Can you name your wife’s favorite flower?”
Tom leaned over to Grace, touched her arm gently and whispered:
“It’s Pillsbury, isn’t it?”
Dear reader, “A merry heart does good, like medicine” (Proverbs 17:22).
