The Greatest Compliment Of All

We all love to hear a genuine compliment because it makes us feel good about ourselves to have the approval or admiration of others if only for a few moments.

By contrast, the apostle Paul looked at what others thought of him or even what he thought of himself as “a very small thing” (1 Corinthians 4:3).

He concluded:
He who judges me is the Lord” (1 Corinthians 4:4).
He knew that one day our inward heart will be fully revealed, and “then each one’s praise will come from God” (1 Corinthians 4:5).

Beloved, when we see our Lord on that great judgment day, there won’t be any greater compliment than when we hear Him say:

Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21,23).
