The story is told that once at a White House dinner, a churchman offered a benediction and closed with this pious affirmation: “The Lord is on our side.”
When then President Abraham Lincoln did not respond to the sentiment, someone asked him, “Don’t you believe, Mr. President, that the Lord is always on the side of the right?”
The President answered, “I am not concerned about that, for we know that the Lord is always on the side of the right. Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God’s side, for God is always right” (see source).
Beloved, let’s indeed “be on God’s side,” for God is always right.
