Do We Remember Grandma?

“Grandma used to get up on Sunday morning before daylight (at least mine did), cook a big breakfast for her very large family, milk three or four cows, churn butter, clean the house, kill and dress a couple of whole chickens, bathe and dress the kids, then go with the family in a horse-drawn wagon five miles or more to the ‘meeting house,’ getting there early for Bible study and worship.

“Today, breakfast comes in a cereal box, the grocery man brings us the milk and butter, ‘Colonel Sanders’ does the whole thing with the chickens, and the distance to the church building is often measured in blocks instead of miles, covered in minutes by a modern air-conditioned automobile.

“And yet, some folks still can’t make it on time for Bible study and worship.

Amazing, isn’t it?
