"End Construction"

For several years now, many roadways in El Paso have been under constant construction. At the end of each construction project, there is usually a sign that reads, “End Construction.

In this life, Christians are always “Under Construction” — we are undergoing a constant lifelong process of spiritual growth and development (2 Peter 2:1-2; Hebrews 5:14; cf. Ephesians 4:15; 2 Peter 3:18).

As we allow God’s word to motivate us in removing our selfish behavior (Philippians 2:4), renewing our thinking (Romans 12:2), and developing Christ-like qualities (Colossians 3:5-14), we are “Under Construction.

Regarding God working in us, Paul stated, “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6).

As we journey toward heaven, let’s cooperate with God’s construction of our lives, and when His work in us is complete, “we shall be like Him” (1 John 3:2; cf. Romans 8:29; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Peter 1:4) — God’s construction project will then be complete — His sign reading, “End Construction” (Matthew 10:22; Mark 13:13).
