More Valuable Than Diamonds

In our world, diamonds are prized for their rarity, beauty, and durability. We often hear it said that “Diamonds are forever.” In fact, there was a James Bond film by that title produced in 1971. However, to God,  there is something far more valuable than diamonds.

The Psalmist David marveled at the great value God set on human beings when he stated:
What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor” (Psalm 8:4-5).
Even as sinful human beings, God still places a high value on each one of us (Matthew 16:26; cf. Psalm 49:6-8a value far greater than diamonds. So high a value, that it cost Him dearly to purchase our redemption. The purchase price being the precious blood of His Son (1 Peter 1:18-19; cf. Hebrews 9:11-12; Ephesians 1:7).

If God places such a high value on us, should we not also place a high value on people who haven‘t heard the saving gospel of Christ? (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16).

Our Lord did (Matthew 18:11; Luke 19:9-10).
