On Running To The Doctor

From all of the drug advertisements on television, one would think that almost everyone is running to their doctor in order to acquire the “latest and the greatest” drug that supposedly will cure any ill that one might have.

When this writer was growing up on a farm out in the country, we didn’t “run” to the doctor every time we got splinter in our finger or a nail in our foot, because there was no doctor to “run” to. We either took care of the problem with home cure remedies (other natural remedies), passed down from generation to generation, or we simply suffered the consequences.

Personally, I don’t put too much stock [trust or confidence] in doctors, because they rarely know (or are interested) in what’s going on inside (or outside) my body anyway. I do, however, put a great deal of stock in the “Great Physician,” because He knows me inside and out, both physically and spiritually — He’s the only doctor that can cure any ailments that I might acquire through His loving providential care (see video).

Folks, the only doctor that we can put our full trust and confidence in is the “Great Physician” — the One who can heal all our soul’s diseases (Luke 5:27-32; 1 Timothy 1:12-16).
