What Would Our Name Be?

Native American Indians used to give their children names they earned. Thus, some girl might be named “Laughing Water, Sunshine, or Timid One.” A boy might be named “Running Feet, Wise Owl, or Black Hawk.”

Let’s just suppose for a moment that God would give us, as His children, names we deserved to wear. There would be such names as “Helping Hand, Faithful Teacher, Lively Stone.” There would also be “Unreliable, Luke Warm, Evil Heart, Sin Lover.”

If God were to give us a name, what would our name be?
