Those who dwell in heaven for eternity will be spiritually perfect. In this life on earth, God’s people long for holiness. Yet, sin is all around us. Christians strive against sin and yet succumb to it at times. The most devout Christians are keenly conscious of their shortcomings. In heaven, where sin is altogether excluded (Revelation 21:22-27), these saints will be perfectly holy! (Ephesians 5:25-27; 1 Peter 1:13-16).
Their love for, devotion to, and adoration of God, will be totally unmarred in heaven! Beholding the Lamb of God face to face, the redeemed will worship and serve Him forever! (Revelation 7:14-15; Revelation 22:3).
The saved of heaven will know and recognize one another there. Paul declared that Christ “shall fashion anew the body of our humiliation, that it may be conformed to the body of His glory” (Philippians 3:21 ASV).
Was Christ’s post resurrection body recognizable? Yes, it was; and at His appearing He will “fashion anew” (“change”- KJV) our bodies to make them like His own.
Furthermore, John wrote:
“We know that, if He shall be manifested, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him even as He is” (1 John 3:2 ASV).
Christ will be visible and recognizable at His appearing and “we shall be like Him.” We shall be visible and recognizable too.
Yes, heaven is a perfect place of majestic glory. To be there, will be unspeakable joy! It will be the fulfillment of the believer’s dreams and expectations! —V.E. Howard
