Elizabeth Taylor was at one time considered to be the most beautiful woman in the world. However, when she died at the age of 79 — her outward beauty was a thing of the past.
So, let us ask ourselves this question: "What is beauty?"
Solomon described outward beauty as being "vain" (Proverbs 31:30 KJV) or "passing" (Proverbs 31:30 NKJV). The NIV translates the term vain as “fleeting” (Proverbs 31:30 NIV).
Both charm and beauty are superficial and temporary. Real beauty (or inward beauty) originates from the "heart" (1 Peter 3:1-4) — when a woman displays (1) reverence towards God (Proverbs 31:30); (2) a meek and quiet spirit (1 Peter 3:4); (3) being submissive toward her husband (1 Peter 3:5-6).
Ladies, let’s think about it!
