"It's What's On The Inside That Matters"

The story is told of a man who was painting the inside of an elderly lady’s house. In her house, she had a family Bible prominently displayed on the coffee table and remarked to the man that the Bible was 116 years old — a priceless heirloom.

The man commented on how remarkable that was, and then added, “It doesn’t matter how old the Bible might be, it’s what’s on the inside that matters.

The lady immediately replied, “Oh, I know. That sure is the truth. Why, we have family records, births, marriages and deaths that go so far back recorded in that Bible; why, we could never replace them.”

To this woman, the physical contents was all that mattered.

We might ask this question, “What is on the inside of that old Bible in your house that really matters to you?"

Are we familiar with its spiritual contents?
