There are people in our world, who will pay the above high-end prices, just to get "the latest and the greatest" in digital gadgetry from one of the richest corporations in the world (ranked #16).
To this Christian writer, I marvel that the want of a mere watch (that will be outdated in a short period of time), could ever take precedence over people in our world who have real needs, both physical and spiritual.
Children go to bed hungry right here in the United States, the most affluent nation on earth (see stats here); missionaries around the world go wanting for lack of monetary support in order to successfully spread the saving gospel of Christ to a world lost in sin. Here is one in India who has financial needs for doing the Lord's work (see Ongoing Projects).
Beloved, perhaps we need to take a closer look at our priorities (Matthew 6:33), considering the fact that this world is not our home (Hebrews 11:8-16), but just a temporary residence (Hebrews 13:14).
Remember that laying up for ourselves eternal treasures in heaven, far outweigh any temporary treasure we might find here on earth (1 Timothy 6:17-19; Matthew 6:19-20).
