Choosing To Obey God

Satan told Eve in the Garden of Eden, “Ye shall not surely die” (Genesis 3:4 KJV). This phrase is the theme of many modern novels. We see the hero and heroine living in disobedience to God but suffering no consequences.

In soap operas, and movies, we see the characters rebelling against the moral laws of God, but seemingly living happily ever after.

There is even a perfume called “My Sin.” The ads tell us that it’s a fragrance “so alluring, so charming, so exciting, that we could only call it ‘My Sin.’”

The Scriptures tell us that sin is similar to a corrupting smoke in the nostrils of God (Isaiah 65:1-7).

In the temptations we face daily, will we believe Satan’s lie? (John 8:44). Or will we obey God? (Romans 6:17).

The choice is always ours (Joshua 24:14-15).
