Serving The God Of "WOW"

There are many things in God’s creation that are so majestic, so marvelous, so fantastic to behold, that there is only one descriptive word of exclamation to describe them — “WOW!” When the apostle Paul wrote about the work of God in saving both Jew and Gentile in the book of Romans, there were three things about the nature of God that “wowed” him:

1) God is all-wise (Romans 11:33; Acts 15:18). His perfect plan of salvation indicates that He has far better solutions to the problems of life than we are capable of devising.
2) God is all-knowing (1 John 3:20; cf. Matthew 12:25). His knowledge is infinite. He needs no counselor (Romans 11:34; Job 36:22), and nothing ever surprises Him.
3) God is all-sufficient (Romans 11:35; Acts 17:24-25). No one can give to God what He has not first given to them (James 1:17). Nor can anyone ever repay Him for His goodness and mercy.

Paul goes on to say: “For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen” (Romans 11:36).

If folks would just stop to contemplate the supreme majesty and glory of the inexpressible God — the Creator and upholder of all things (Hebrews 1:1-3), whose existence is from "everlasting to everlasting" (Psalm 90:2; Psalm 41:13), any petty misgivings and doubts they might have would suddenly disappear.

Along with Moses, we ask the question, “Who is like You …. majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?” (Exodus 15:11 ESV). To ask the question, is to answer the question (cf. Isaiah 45:5-6). Beloved, it is indeed a great blessing to know that we serve the God of “WOW!”
