"Victory Belongs To The Lord"

Brother Jeremy Sprouse, preacher for the Patrick Street congregation in Dublin, Texas, emphasizes a very important point from the below Scripture regarding the use of military might with regards to victory:

The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory belongs to the Lord” (Proverbs 21:31
NASB)

“It doesn’t matter how well the enemies of God have armed and prepared, they will fail. In ancient times, horses gave a definite advantage to an army. Many armies put their trust in the amount of horses they possessed.

Victory, however, is not found in military might, it belongs to the Lord. It doesn’t matter how much man plans and schemes, they will fail against the Lord. It doesn’t matter how mighty and sophisticated weapons man has, they will fail against the Lord. Nothing man has can even be compared with the greatness and might God possesses.” Jeremy Sprouse

Victory belongs to the Lord“; to which I can only add, “Amen and Amen!” (Isaiah 31:1; cf. Psalm 20:7-9).
