1 Corinthians 11:24 -- A Question

An individual once asked, In 1 Corinthians 11:24 KJV the word, “broken” is omitted in other Bible versions (ASV, ESV, NKJV, NASV, RSV).

I’ve heard some men (who are serving on the Lord’s table) pray, “We thank thee, Father, for this loaf which represents the broken body of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.” Or they say, “We thank thee, Father, for this broken loaf which represents the broken body of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

My question is, How was our Lord’s body “broken” when the scriptures plainly state that “not one” of His bones would be “broken”? (Psalm 34:20; cf. Exodus 12:46; Numbers 9:12).

Brother Kevin Cauley, preacher for the New Boston congregation, answers the above question in his article here.
