Praise God That We Can "Press Toward The Mark"

There are many spiritual blessings that we have “in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3) — so many, in fact, that much paper and ink would be required to list and reflect on them. But in all of these blessings, isn’t it a blessing that God made us with the ability to praise Him! (Psalm 146:1-2; Psalm 147:1; Psalm 148:1; Psalm 150:1-2; Psalm 150:6).

David provides us the inspired insight: “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well” (Psalm 139:14).

Key among the characteristics with which we are equipped by God is the quality of our mind. Through this marvelous mechanism, we are able to understand that Christ rose from the grave, forever securing our eternal future (Matthew 28:1-8; 1 Corinthians 15:20-23; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

Because of our Lord’s triumphant coming forth from the grave, we can confidently echo Paul’s words in Philippians 3:14: “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Beloved, let us commit to a study of God’s Book each and every day, applying its commands and precepts to our everyday life and living (2 Timothy 2:15; Hebrews 5:14 KJV), always praising God (Hebrews 13:15) for giving us the ability to “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
