The Good Salt Of Christian Influence

How much of the good salt of Christian influence do we have in us? Probably not as much as we should have. Thus, we often need to refresh our memories with our Lord’s precious words:

You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then
good for nothing, but to be thrown out, and trampled under foot by men” (Matthew 5:13).

The above text contains the following:

1) A description to appreciate — “You are the salt of the earth.”

2) A danger to avoid — “But if the salt have loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?”

3) A danger to abhor — “It is then good for nothing, but to be thrown out, and trampled under foot by men”

Beloved, let us never allow the salt of our Christian influence to lose its flavor by succumbing to the world’s influence (2 Timothy 4:10) — rather, let us continually renew our mind through the study and application of God’s word (2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 12:2 KJV; cf. Ephesians 6:10-18).
