Jesus makes it clear in Matthew 6:24; Matthew 7:13-14; Matthew 12:30, that being a compromiser will not suffice in Christianity. We are either for the Lord, or we are against Him — there can be no middle-ground and no fence sitters. Members who fail to take a stand lest they “offend” others, are already offensive to the Savior (Galations 1:10).
Glorified popularity contests belong in the political arena — not in the Lord’s church (John 11:45-48; cf. Luke 6:26; John 15:19; 1 John 4:1-6).
As soldiers of Christ, we must faithfully wield the sword of the Spirit, ever ready to slay the dragons of error and evil (1 Timothy 1:18-19; Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12). Our spiritual armor and weaponry that God has provided us (Ephesians 6:10-18), are designed to overwhelm any of Satan’s crafty schemes (2 Corinthians 10:3-5; 2 Corinthians 2:11).
