Two Significant Truisms

This morning, I saw the following two significant truisms on Twitter:

1) You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

A horse is similar in nature to leading someone to Christ. Before a person can drink of the "water of everlasting life" (John 4:14), you have to first make him thirsty for that water.

2) You can bring a man to knowledge, but you can't make him think.

Sad to say, but the ability to think and reason rationally and responsibly in our present-day society, is fast becoming a lost commodity (see New York Times article). Be that as it may, God still seeks "thinking" men and women today!
