Irreconcilable Differences, Or Just Plain Laziness?

Almost every week, we see some celebrity couple in the news divorcing because of "irreconcilable differences" (see article). Could it be that because of "irreconcilable differences" we divorce ourselves from ever coming to an understanding of God's word? (the inspired writer Paul said that if we would "read" ..... we could "understand" the gospel in Ephesians 3:3-6).

How many so-called "religious" folks dismiss religious differences as hopeless, unresolvable, and irreconcilable? How many in the Lord's church have the same mindset?

Brother Dave Miller of Apologetics Press (see bio), has written this recent article in which he lists the following six key principles that will lead any student of God's word to a correct interpretation:

1) Principle 1: Absolute Truth Is Attainable (John 17:17; Romans 6:16-18; Ephesians 3:3-6).
2) Principle 2: Logical Reasoning Is Required (Acts 17:2; Acts 18:4,19; Acts 24:25)
3) Principle 3: Diligent Effort Must Be Expended (Acts 17:11; 2 Timothy 2:15).
4) Principle 4: Be Aware Of False Interpretation (Galations 1:6-12; Galations 2:1-5).
5) Principle 5: Remain Within Scriptural Parameters (Deuteronomy. 4:2; 12:32; Proverbs 30:5-6).
6) Principle 6: Maintain A Receptive Attitude (Matthew 13:10-16).

Beloved, regarding our understanding of the Bible, the question is this: Do we really have irreconcilable differences, or is it just plain laziness on our part?

Remember that those who refuse to be receptive to the words of our Lord, those same words will judge them in the last day (John 12:48-50).
