'Father Knows Best,' Even In 2016

Elliott Katz, a father who coaches other fathers, has written this above titled article, in which he stresses the responsibility of a father's God-given role as the leader of the family unit.

As a young boy, I well remember the "Father Knows Best" television series from 1954 - 1960 in which actor Robert Young played the role of Jim Anderson, a father who was thoroughly involved in the lives of his television family (see videos).

As Mr. Katz points out in his good article:

"In each episode, he was aware of situations at home that needed to be dealt with, and he dealt with them. Though it might be unrealistic to portray a father as being able to solve every problem, the important lesson for today’s fathers is that Jim stepped forward and got involved. He didn’t ignore what was going on in his home and expect his wife to handle it."

What a contrast in the father figure portrayed in the above television series versus the father figure we see today!

Beloved, God has assigned the spiritual training of children to fathers. Men, let's not be afraid to step up to the plate and be the kind of godly father that our Heavenly Father wants us to be! (Ephesians 6:4 NET).
