God Is Offensive Because He Offends!

Sad to say, we now live in a society that doesn't want to "offend" anyone about anything, including sin (1 John 3:4-24 NLT) and those engaged in sinful practices. This is why God is offensive to many folks in our world, because He offends!

When God tells us that He hates sin ["wickedness"] (Psalm 45:6-7; Habakkuk 1:12-13), that includes the sin of hating our fellow man even to the degree of murdering him (Genesis 4:1-15).

It's been stated that God loves the sinner but hates the sin (source). We know this statement is true because the inspired writer Paul stated in Romans 5:8, "For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Beloved, God loves the sinner who repents and ceases engaging in sin (2 Corinthians 7:8-10; 1 Peter 4:1-2 ASV). This would include those engaged in a sinful and perverted homosexual lifestyle (Romans 1:21-28; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NLT).

Yes, God is offensive because He offends those who are not willing to obey God's absolute truth (John 17:17) (not man's subjective truth based on "feelings") and giving up their sinful behavior (whatever that behavior might consist of).
