The Apostle Paul exhorted Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:2 to, “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” Why should we preach the word?
Because preaching is important to God!
The Bible says that God has “manifested His word through preaching” (Titus 1:3). Jesus told his disciples that “repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name beginning at Jerusalem” (Luke 24:47).
Paul stated that “it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe” (1 Corinthians 1:2). In another place the same apostle said, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14).
The Bible emphatically declares that preaching is important!
Let's ask ourselves, what kind of preaching do we need?
