A few years ago, I wrote this article about the inability of an individual to "drink responsibly." The statistics referred to in the article are self-explanatory and very eye-opening, just as these CDC stats are. From the CDC stats article, this statement is notable: "Dietary Guidelines do not recommend that individuals who do not drink alcohol start drinking for any reason."
As I stated in my above article:
"Let’s be godly men and women (2 Corinthians 7:1; 1 Peter 1:15; 2 Peter 3:11) — not drinking any alcoholic beverages (the only exception being for prescribed medicinal purposes — 1 Timothy 5:23) , so that we might be responsible for our actions before the Lord — those actions that our Lord will judge on that last day (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14; John 12:48; 2 Corinthians 5:10; cf. Jeremiah 17:10)."
