Beloved, the word “rapture” is not found in the Scriptures. The term is derived from the Latin “rapio,” which means “to seize” or “to snatch.” It is taken from the Latin translation of the Greek word, harpagesometha (from harpazo–Strong’s 726), “shall be caught up” (cf. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 KJV).
