A querist asks, “Is there a scripture, where it reads that money is a protection and can you please explain James 4:4?"
The answer to the querist’s first question is Ecclesiastes 7:12 NET and should be self-explanatory.
In James 4:4, the text states:
“Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.“
James is simply saying that Christians cannot be a friend of God and a friend of the world’s evil influences at the same time (see John 15:19; John 17:14 for companion scriptures).
Christians are “in the world” but never “of the world” (John 17:14-17). Also look at 1 John 2:15-17.
