Global Warming No More

For the past few years, we've all heard about global warming, and Al Gore's incessant promotion of it. Mr. Gore obviously believes that frail mankind (Psalm 103:13-16) will somehow live on this old constantly deteriorating globe forever, but that's simply not the case (Romans 8:20-22 NLT - see Coffman).

The writer of this Forbes article tells us that global warming will destroy the earth in "a billion or two years from now."

There's no question in this writer's mind that global warming will indeed occur, but it will be far more than just a "warming." And it will occur on God's timing and not man's (Matthew 24:35-36; cf. Psalm 103:24-27).

The inspired apostle Peter, provides us the fact that not only the earth, but the whole creation will be done away by "intense heat" (2 Peter 3:9-12). There will be no more global warming. The "new heavens and a new earth" (the spiritual realm) will replace the present heaven and earth (the physical realm). Unlike this sinful fleshly realm, "righteousness" will dwell there (2 Peter 3:13), and no defiling or abominable element will exist (Revelation 21:27).

So what are we to do in preparation for the above certain event?

The inspired Peter provides our instructions:

"Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless ..... but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen."

Beloved, growing "in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" can only come about by our intense "study" and meditating on God's holy and divine word (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV; cf. Psalm 1:1-2).
