"Search The Scriptures Daily"

Sad to say, but there is another prediction of the world ending on September 23 by so-called "Christian" numerologist David Meade (see here). Mr. Meade takes Luke 21:25-26 completely out of context, thus making it a pretext for a proof text.

Obviously, Mr. Meade does not know or understand the scripture reading found in Matthew 24:35-36; Mark 13:31-32, which states that only God knows that day and hour .... not even God's Son or the angels know when the end of the world is to occur (see article).

The scriptures state that "the simple believes everything" (Proverbs 14:15 ESV). The implication being that we are not to believe everything we see or hear. With regard to the inspired scriptures, we are to "search the scriptures daily" to see whether or not these things are so (Acts 17:11). We are to "test" the teaching we receive from men, so that we will not be deceived by false prophets (1 John 4:1). Thus, studying the scriptures is not only a command, but a necessity in order to be approved of God (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV).

We have to properly study Matthew 24:1-34 along with Luke 21:5-32 in order to acquire the whole picture of what these two inspired gospel writers are teaching us regarding the destruction of Jerusalem, along with the Jewish temple in AD 70. Note in both of the above readings, the statement found in Matthew 24:34; Luke 21:32 regarding "this generation" .... the people Jesus was speaking to in the first century, not in the 21st century.

The correct scriptural analysis by gospel preachers Wayne Jackson and Dave Miller of the teaching found in Matthew 24:1-34 and Luke 21:5-32 can be found here and here. One last point. God's criteria for testing a prophet's validity, is found in Deuteronomy 18:15-22, noting specifically vs's 20-22 ..... "if the thing does not happen or come to pass."

Beloved, such is the case regarding the above prediction that the world will end on September 23, 2017.
