Award winning author, Frank Sonnenberg (see blog), has recently written this article in which he provides 30 ways we can calm any hectic lifestyle we might have. I especially like the above titled last sentence under the heading, "Do You Wear A Frantic Lifestyle As A Badge Of Honor?"
There is a world of difference between a hard worker and a workaholic (see here). The same holds true in the spiritual realm. In order to be effective spiritually speaking, we must maintain a proper spiritual balance in life -- never going to extremes (Ecclesiastes 7:16-18 NIV) to the point where our judgment becomes impaired and we end up as fanatics (see here and here).
Beloved, if we're a workaholic trying to get rich, the wise man Solomon tells us that is an exercise in futility (Ecclesiastes 2 NET). We only need enough money for one day (see here).
Rather than striving to get rich, Mr. Sonnenberg lists "52 ways to be rich without being wealthy" (see here), recognizing the fact that "money is only one form of wealth. You’re rich when you realize some of the best things in life are free."
And one more additional piece of wisdom: May we never get so busy making a living, that we forget to make a life (see here).
