Country music has always been one of my favorite genres of music, simply because the lyrics of the songs usually express some kind of moral truth (see here). In the song entitled, "There Won't Be Another Now" (lyrics by Red Lane - see here), sung by country artist, Mark Chesnutt (see here), the lyrics repeat and emphasize the following above headed truth three times:"There may be another morning, but there won't be another now."
As the young man in the song longingly and romantically pines for the love of his childhood sweetheart, he realizes the above truth. There may indeed be another morning (if God wills it to be so - James 4:13-15), but there won't be another Now.
Why? Simply because all our "Nows" quickly become history (Ecclesiastes 1:9; 3:15 NLT), never to be relived again (Hebrews 9:27). This is why it is of utmost importance to adhere to what the inspired apostle Paul stated in 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV) regarding the word "Now": ("For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." - emphasis mine).
The late actress Natalie Wood once stated, "I want yesterday" (see here).
Beloved, our "yesterdays" will soon fade into insignificance. The "Nows" are all we have that are certain. To those folks reading this article who have not yet rendered obedience to God's redeeming plan of salvation (see article) may I, along with the apostle Paul, implore you to render willing obedience "Now."
