The words in the above title are implied in the sixth paragraph of this themaven.net article by Peter Heck. Regarding understanding the Bible's significance, Mr. Heck writes this truth: "The best way to entice others into understanding the Bible’s significance is to live a life transformed by its truth. It should go without saying that we can’t be transformed by it if we don’t open it."
We must indeed "live a life transformed by its truth" (Romans 12:2) And we definitely "can't be transformed by it [the Bible] if we don't open it" (see here and here - see article).
Because of increasing public assaults on God's Word, Mr. Heck states, "there is a need for public defense of the superiority of Biblical thought and its cultural influence."
Beloved, all true Christians should be "apologists" (see Strong's 627); having acquired the necessary knowledge to successfully defend biblical truth, New Testament Christianity, and the saving gospel of Christ (Philippians 1:7,17 - see here and here).
Mr. Heck concludes his good article by stating and asking the following: "Life-transforming, cultural-revolutionizing, world-changing power is found inside the covers of that dusty Bible on the shelf. Perhaps a renewed commitment to promoting its study would be more profitable than warring over its symbolic popularity?" (see article).
To which this writer can only add these words: "Amen and Amen!"
