Heading To The Bars For 'Blackout Wednesday' --- "Is It Worth It?"

After reading this KFOX14 article, about young people heading to the local bars in order to have "fun" on 'Blackout Wednesday' (excessive drinking causing an individual to literally blackout), this writer's question is, "Is it worth it?" (having all of this so-called "fun").

Quoting from the above KFOX14 article, "According to The National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) says between 2013 and 2017, more than 800 people died in alcohol-impaired-driving crashes during the Thanksgiving holiday period."

"Is it worth it?" (the "fun" that is).

According to the following two KFOX14 articles here and here, the lives of two young people (a boyfriend and girlfriend) were instantly changed because of excessive alcohol use (the boyfriend died and the girlfriend was incarcerated).

"Is it worth it?" (the "fun" that is).

After reading the above KFOX14 articles, two biblical principles immediately come to mind:

1) "You must not follow the crowd in doing wrong" (Exodus 23:2 NLT).
2) "Abstain from all appearance of evil" (1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV - see article).

"Is it worth it?" (the "fun" that is).

The only logical answer a rational individual can come to is, "No, it's not worth it" (the  so-called "fun" that is).

The bottom line is: Just say "No!" to alcohol in any form (see the principle in Galations 6:7-8).
