Can We Just Imagine The Conversation?

Can we just imagine the conversation between Adam and God as God decided to create "a helper comparable to him"  (Genesis 2:20). He commanded Adam and his female helper (Eve) to "Be fruitful and multiply" (Genesis 1:28; cf. Genesis 9:1,7) ..... but with one stipulation.

Adam asked, "What's the stipulation, Lord?" "That your marriage be approved by Me (see article) and that no sexual activity take place outside that approved marriage (Matthew 19:1-6; Hebrews 13:4).

Then Adam replied, "Lord, why do You have be a old stick-in-the-mud? After all, there are so many beautiful women out there to choose from. Why did you limit me to just one woman?" "Why can't I just do my own thing?" Then God told Adam, I'm limiting your access to women "for your good always" (Deuteronomy 6:24-25; 10:12-13).

Solomon found out the hard way that having multiple relationships with foreign women was not "for his good always" (cf. 1 Kings 11).

Beloved, the point of the above imagined discourse, is to illustrate the fact that no matter what command God issues to us as human beings, that command is "for your good always" ..... and "is not burdensome" (1 John 5:3).

Thus, in order to be pleasing to God (and for our own good) we must "keep His commandments."
