Civil War Is Not Civil

After reading this article regarding the Baptist denominational belief that our nation may be headed in the direction of another Civil War (also see here), my question is this: Is there anything "civil" about a war?

As brother Richard Mansel, managing editor of Forthright Magazine, points out in his good article entitled "War Is Never Civil":

"The Civil War, which bore no semblance of civility, brought shame on our nation. Every time God’s people war and divide, we bring shame upon God. In the judgment, God will remember our temerity" (Revelation 20:11-15).

This writer had much rather do what God requested of his people in Isaiah 1:18: "Come now, and let us reason together, Says the Lord."

Note the word "reason" in the above passage.

Sad to say, we presently live in a very "unreasonable" (see #2) and uncivil society.

So unreasonable and uncivil, that God will indeed "remember" our society's temerity on Judgment Day (also see here).

No beloved, Civil War is not civil.
