November: Thinking Of Thanking

Sister Cindy Colley serves as a Bible class teacher and women’s ministry leader at the West Huntsville Church of Christ in Huntsville, Alabama, where her husband, Glenn Colley, serves as an elder and the pulpit minister (see here). Sister Colley has recently written this above titled article, emphasizing the fact that our present-day, basically selfish society, has adopted the "I deserve" mentality rather than the "I appreciate" mentality.

She begins her above article with the following comments:

"In the month when many are counting blessings, Christians have the longest lists; the bounty that others can’t approach. In fact, those who do not know Christ cannot even know that they don’t know how to be truly thankful."

As Sister Colley continues her good article, she points out some of the very disparaging and immoral conditions in today's society.

Then she ends her article with the following comments:

"May we always acknowledge with the deepest possible human gratitude our allegiance to the plans and our awe at the power of the Giver of all good gifts. May we never forget our permanent status before Him of being undeserving of these gifts."

Amen, Sister Colley ..... and Amen! (James 1:17).
