A Great Significance In God's Eyes!

In the farming community of Olton, Texas where I grew up as a young man, everyone knew everyone else by first name. A feeling of closeness was just one of the benefits of growing up in a small community.

We all want to be accepted by our peers and fit in some niche of life. But some people who live in large cities, live on the margins of life where it can be difficult to feel they have any value, significance, or that they matter to anyone.

Children experience this problem far too often as well. To some of their peers, they are either too tall, too fat, too smart, or not smart enough. Being “different” as a child, can result in being mocked or bullied. But an adult who does not fit into a certain perceived mold, may just simply be ignored — so much so, that they feel invisible.

By contrast, what a great significance Christians have in God’s eyes! We were so valued that He sent His only begotten Son to pay the price for our sins (John 3:16; 1 John 4:8-9; Romans 5:6-10) and to allow us to have a relationship with Him (2 Corinthians 6:13-18).

Even though at times we might “feel” as if we are insignificant, the Bible tells us that we, as God’s children, are deeply loved by our heavenly Father (Romans 8:13-18; 1 John 3:1-2).
